CEI: European Standard EN 15733 for Real Estate Agents
During the International Conference about the Implementation of the European Standard EN 15733, held by NREA and CEI in Sofia, it became obvious that the EN 15733 is established in most European countries as a common Standard for the profession of real estate agents in Europe. Lachezar Iskrov, President of the Bulgarian Association of Real Estate Agents, adressed the conference and pointed out that the European Standard is an important step for the developing of national real estate agents laws for several countries such as Bulgaria. The Bulgarian Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Rosen Plevneliev has sent an address to the conference and emphasized that the government in Bulgaria will more than promote the standard as a professional regulation of the services of real estate agents. During the CEI Board Meeting in Sofia on 22nd and 23rd of October 201 the Board members focussed on the conclusions of the International Conference and Round Table about the Implementation of the EN 15733 in the European countries. During the conference ot was mentioned that the regulation of the complaints handling has to be developed for the countries where the EN 15733 has already been adopted. CEI Board discussed to organize a follow-up conference about complaints handling in the national associations of real estate agents. The system of an Ombudsman that has already been introduced in England in Germany could be a good example for further countries. (more...)

During the CEI Board Meeting, that took place in Brussels end of November 2009, the CEI Board discussed the implementation of the EU Services Directive into national law. The period to implement the EU Services Directive into national law ends 28th of December 2009. The Conference on real estate agents services, which has been developed by the European Standardisation Institute, CEN, has been hosted by CEI on 26th of November in Brussels. During the Conference participants from 18 countries have discussed the latest development of the Standard. It is expected, that the EN 15733 will be published by the CEN during December 2009 or January 2010. The Standard has already been adopted by the 31 members countries of CEN.
