The CEI Conference in Dublin Castle was a big success. Participants from 14 countries discussed the latest trends for real estate agents in Europe. The financial crisis and the impacts on the real estate industry in Europe was in the focus of the conference. Michael Finneran, Minister of housing in Ireland, opened the conference and addressed the participants with the view of the Irish government. The credit crunch, which has laid over all markets in Europe, has to be resolved. The Irish government is focussing on guaranteeing deposits, then recapitalising banks and finally putting toxic papers into a new agency. The Irish government will found this agency during the next weeks. Prof. Kinella from the Smurfitt School in Dublin focused on the real estate industry which in the epicenter of the financial crisis.
In a second item the conference dealt with the energy efficiency certificate and the transformation of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive into national law together with the role of real estate agents.
Finally the latest development of IP-TV in the real estate business has been discussed.
